Back in June, CAPCOM revealed the Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance expansion for the latest entry in the series released in 2025 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S. The first look at the expansion was surprisingly short, but the Japanese publisher finally provided a proper new look at it during today's PlayStation State of Play.
The expansion's first trailer provides a solid overview of what to expect in the new expansion and the Master Rank hunts that players will have to embark on. The Skybound Eyrie, in particular, looks very good and much more vibrant than most of the locations seen in the base game, which the new trailer suggests will see some sort of change, and not just in the monsters roaming about, which is expected considering previous series' expansions.
The Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance trailer can be watched below:

Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance will also pack new gameplay mechanics via the Boost Bracer, which will supercharge all 14 weapons with new aggressive Boosted Actions. The new trailer also provides a new look at these moves, which look like they will significantly up the intensity and the pace of new Master Rank hunts.
Unfortunately, the new Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance trailer did not provide the most important piece of information most were looking forward to: its exact release date, which is still set for a generic 2027 release window. However, as the Tokyo Game Show is right around the corner, it's likely we will soon hear more about when we will be able to venture into Skybound Eyrie to fight against the powerful new monsters that populate it.
