Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse Demo Arrives October 1 Ahead of Release

You’ve asked, and Konami has finally answered, revealing that a playable demo for Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse will be available for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam starting October 1, 2026.

According to Konami, the demo will run at 60 FPS on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, while the Nintendo Switch version will be limited to 30 FPS. The demo will require roughly 6GB on PS5, 5GB on Xbox Series X|S, 4GB on PC, and 3GB on Nintendo Switch. Save data from the demo can also be carried over to the full game, as long as you’re playing on the same platform and account.

Konami has also stated that some features and content may be restricted in the demo. While the October 1 release date has been confirmed, the exact time that the demo will become available has not yet been announced.

One thing that continues to bother me is that while Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse has been announced for Nintendo Switch, there still hasn’t been any confirmation of a Nintendo Switch 2 version. Sure, the Switch 2 will be able to play the Nintendo Switch version through backward compatibility, but it won’t be optimized to take advantage of the more powerful hardware. That also means it will still be stuck at 30 frames per second, which is a shame because I’d really like to see what this game could do with a proper Switch 2 version.

There was also a Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse livestream during Tokyo Game Show 2026. After watching the gameplay, however, it looks like the same demo that was playable during Gamescom 2026 and PAX West 2026.

As for whether the October 1 demo will be the same one I played at PAX West, I honestly have no idea. My time with that demo was very short, so I’m hoping the version being released to everyone is longer and gives players a bit more time with the game. I can only hope.
