Seasoned actor and video game veteran, Mads Mikkelson, was recently revealed to be the main antagonist in the campaign of the upcoming Call of Duty game, Modern Warfare 4, that is coming to PS5 in October.
The news (via IGN) comes from a reveal trailer released by the developers that showcased Mikkelsen as the new villain in the series. Not much about his exact role is known, but the name of the character is presumably called Archer.
Mads Mikkelsen is not new to video game roles, as he was one of the leads in 2019’s Death Stranding. So, he has quite a bit of experience with acting in the gaming industry, so it would be of no surprise if he shines as the new villain.
Modern Warfare 4 is set to launch on PS5 on October 23 next month. However, fans can get in on the action a bit early as there will be campaign early access for players who pre-ordered either the Digital Standard or Vault Editions of the game.
Mads Mikkelsen is more known as an actor in film, as he has starred in major movies such as Casino Royale, Doctor Strange, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore, and countless others as he has established himself as one of the industry’s finest actors. So, it is good to see him take on another role in the gaming world, as he did a superb job with Hideo Kojima for Death Stranding.
We will likely hear more about Archer, the new antagonist, as the launch to the game gets closer, and we can certainly expect another masterful acting performance from Mikkelsen, as his wide range of expertise is continuing to evolve in gaming.
