Metal Slug Ultimate Collection Announced for 2027 With 10 Games, Rare Unreleased

SNK has announced Metal Slug Ultimate Collection, a 30th-anniversary compilation for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, coming in 2027.

The collection comprises the original Metal Slug through Metal Slug 7, alongside Metal Slug Advance and a rare location test version that was never officially released. SNK is also adding modern play features, additional modes, online rankings, and a museum containing material from across the series.

The included games are:

• Metal Slug (1996 / Neo Geo MVS)
• Metal Slug 2 (1998 / Neo Geo MVS)
• Metal Slug X (1999 / Neo Geo MVS)
• Metal Slug 3 (2000 / Neo Geo MVS)
• Metal Slug 4 (2002 / Neo Geo MVS)
• Metal Slug 5 (2003 / Neo Geo MVS)
• Metal Slug Advance (2004 / Game Boy Advance)
• Metal Slug 6 (2006 / PlayStation 2)
• Metal Slug 7 (2008 / Nintendo DS)
• Metal Slug Location Test Version

The collection includes quick save, quick load, and rewind. Score Attack and Time Attack modes will also be available, though features and modes will vary between games.

Combat School Mode is also included. The returning series mode teaches basic controls and techniques, introducing players unfamiliar with Metal Slug.

Online rankings will track high scores. A separate gallery and museum feature logos, visual materials, and other content associated with the included titles.

Metal Slug Ultimate Collection will support one to two players and is currently available to wishlist on supported platforms.
