Developer Feed 64 and publisher Sobaka Studio have announced that their monochrome roguelike platformer Gennady will launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam and GOG on October 28, 2026.
Dmitry Kachkov, Head of Sobaka Studio, said the following:
Gennady was a perfect title for us to port and publish on consoles, as a brutal action game like the ones we make ourselves, but with a distinct monochromatic look. We couldn’t let PC players hog this one to themselves.
Gennady follows a hero after he wakes up inside an alien meat factory. Trapped inside the hostile facility, players must battle through procedurally generated stages using melee combat, alien weapons, and the ability to launch Gennady himself as a living projectile.
The hand-drawn title comprises platforming and roguelike progression. Players can build up a Rage Mode that grants temporary invulnerability. Maintaining aggressive momentum extends Rage Mode’s duration.
Runs can be enhanced with shields, ammunition, and other upgrades collected throughout each attempt. While the game features roguelike permadeath, players can preserve certain progress by collecting artifacts that carry over between runs. Permanent upgrades for Gennady’s abilities and weapons also help prepare for increasingly difficult encounters.
