Clear River Games is joining forces with Square Enix to revive one of its beloved IPs, Terranigma. Its Super Nintendo release was mainly locked to Japan and Europe, which is why the studio is developing it globally for the first time with enhanced graphics and performance.
Terranigma is an RPG classic that was originally developed by Quintet, a studio that mainly worked with Square Enix through various projects in the 1990s. Its narrative focuses on Ark, a protagonist living in a world with an external face and an internal face. He ventures on a quest to restore the continents and save every lost being, including plants, animals, and humans.
Clear River Games will update about the Terranigma’s new, modernized content closer to its official release date, including a possible physical release.

It’s currently confirmed to launch for PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and Steam in 2027.
