Playism and Kotake Create have announced that their escape game, The Exit 8, has sold over three million units worldwide.

The Exit 8 is available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Switch, Switch 2, mobile devices, and PC via Steam.

In The Exit 8, players navigate a mysterious and seemingly endless underground passageway, where careful observation and attention to detail are crucial for escape.

The game challenges players to discern anomalies in their surroundings; spotting an anomaly means a player should retreat, while failing to notice one means they should continue.

The concept of liminal spaces and back rooms inspires this intriguing mechanic. The Exit 8 is a short game, taking 15 to 60 minutes to complete. It is available in both Japanese and English. A movie adaptation was also recently released.
