You’d best clear your PS5 storage if you’re looking to pick up Final Fantasy VII Revelation. As we all probably expected, considering the previous entry was a staggering 145GB, this entry is outdoing it.
Confirmed by VGC at Tokyo Game Show 2026 during a chat with Naoki Hamaguchi, Final Fantasy VII Revelation will be a whopping 200GB. This comes in the wake of it being confirmed the game would require a download. That said, he did noted they wanted to “deliver some kind of physical product.”
“One thing I want to say is, even though the game will not be on the full disc, in the position we’re in, because discs may be dying out, or maybe staying, with Final Fantasy VII Revelation, we definitely wanted to deliver some kind of physical product. That was really important to us. Trust me!”
The interview then went on to explain the advantages of releasing in this manner, specifically that the team can continue ironing out kinks up until launch whereas physical discs need to have all those performance checks done three months ahead of release, so that could mean stuff could get missed, especially with games as vast as Final Fantasy VII Revelation.
Revelation launches April 8, 2027.
