There are few games that can make a routine bus journey sound quite as appealing as Bus Simulator 27.

The latest entry in the long-running driving series is now rolling onto Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC, bringing a bigger fleet, a brand-new setting and more ways to take control of public transport than before. And if you’ve ever fancied turning your quiet bus-driving career into a full-blown transport empire, there’s rather a lot to get stuck into.At A GlanceGame: Bus Simulator 27Formats: Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, PCPrice: £29.99 / £49.99 Year 1 EditionRelease: September 8th, with Year 1 Edition available nowDeveloper: SIMTERACTPublisher: astragon EntertainmentA Bigger Fleet For A Bigger Bus SimBus Simulator 27 is clearly aiming to be the most ambitious entry in the series yet, starting with a fleet containing more than 45 officially licensed buses from 13 manufacturers.

That means plenty of choice behind the wheel, whether your preference is for rigid buses, articulated models, double-deckers or modern electric vehicles. And there’s also a notable new addition this time around – coaches. For the first time in the series, players can take on longer journeys in coach buses, adding another side to the driving experience beyond the usual urban routes.Welcome To Felicia BayThe setting is Felicia Bay, a fictional slice of Southern Europe inspired by Spain and Portugal.Rather than simply providing somewhere pretty to drive around, the region is built around two cities – Alcaztelar and Mequina – and 20 different districts to explore.

Key details

There are landmarks to discover, busy streets to negotiate and plenty happening around you as you go about your daily routes. The world is also brought to life with dynamic weather and a full day and night cycle, while Unreal Engine 5 is behind the environments. And when you’re finished driving, there’s nothing stopping you from getting out of the driver’s seat and exploring Felicia Bay on foot, with points of interest and hidden collectibles waiting to be found.More Than Just Driving A BusAs you’d expect from the series, there’s a management side to all this as well.Players can create routes, arrange timetables, hire drivers and assign lines while gradually building their bus company.

Buses can also be customised with wraps and advertisements, giving you plenty of opportunity to put your own stamp on the fleet. There are three main ways to play, with Story, Career and Sandbox modes available depending on whether you want some direction, a more traditional management experience or the freedom to simply enjoy the buses. You can even step away from the usual role occasionally and play as an inspector or passenger.Bus Simulator 27 isn’t strictly a solo affair either. Up to four players can work together in cooperative multiplayer, with crossplay across all supported platforms.

That means you and your friends can coordinate routes, manage the fleet and work together to grow your transport company. The Year 1 Edition Gets You On The Road EarlyThe Bus Simulator 27 Year 1 Edition is available now for £49.99, ahead of the Standard Edition‘s September 8th launch at £29.99.The Year 1 Edition bundles the full game with the Year 1 Season Pass, which brings additional content arriving throughout 2026 and 2027.
