Marvel Rivals has found plenty of ways to keep its ever-growing roster and ongoing story moving, but Season 10 is taking things to a particularly brutal place.
Marvel Rivals Season 10: Butcher’s Blasphemy is out today, bringing Gorr the God Butcher into the fight alongside a new map, fresh events, new costumes and more content arriving throughout the season.
After Jubilee and the Team-Up overhaul kicked off Season 9 before The Hood arrived with Season 9.5, the latest chapter turns its attention towards one of Marvel’s most dangerous villains. And Gorr isn’t exactly arriving with peaceful intentions.
At A Glance

- Update: Season 10 – Butcher’s Blasphemy
- Price: Free-to-play
Gorr Has Gods In His Sights
The headline addition is Gorr the God Butcher, who joins the Marvel Rivals roster as a Duelist.
Wielding the terrifying All-Black the Necrosword, Gorr is capable of turning fallen enemies into Black Berserkers and sending them back into the battle as part of his growing army. The weapon itself can change form depending on the situation, giving Gorr plenty of ways to bring the pain from different angles.
His symbiote abilities also allow him to move around the battlefield unexpectedly, while his Ultimate transforms the All-Black into the Annihilablade. That’s when things get particularly nasty, with Gorr ordering his active Black Berserkers into a suitably savage assault.
In short, if you’ve ever wondered what happens when you give one of Marvel’s most relentless villains a place in a hero shooter, Season 10 appears ready to provide the answer.
A New Battlefield Built For A God War
Gorr’s arrival isn’t happening in isolation either.
The season will eventually introduce God Quarry, a brand-new Domination map arriving with the September 24th update. It’s the location of Gorr’s Faith-Harvesting Engine as he searches for the power of the God Tempest imprisoned within Thor’s hammer.
That search forms part of the wider Season 10 storyline, with Gorr intent on gathering enough power to unleash his devastating Godbomb.
There’s more story content to come as well, with the Path to Doomsday continuing later in the season through Phase 3: Avengers Infinity War and Phase 4: Avengers Endgame. Those phases will also introduce two new game modes as part of Season 10.5. We’ll be sure to let you know as that mid-season drop occurs.
Jeff Is Getting His Moment Too
It wouldn’t be a Marvel Rivals season without a healthy dose of slightly less terrifying nonsense.
The September 18th update brings Jeff’s Dream Eater and Jeff’s Superstar Search, two new events offering matching hero costumes and other cosmetic rewards. Pajama Party costumes are also arriving as part of the opening Season 10 content.
Then, on September 24th, Galacta’s Gift returns. The event gives players another chance to earn a Costume Coin, while the Costume Coin Exchange Store receives a fresh selection of rewards.
Season 10 Keeps The Momentum Going
It’s becoming something of a pattern with Marvel Rivals. Season 9 arrived with Jubilee and a major Team-Up overhaul, Season 9.5 followed with The Hood and a sizeable technical shake-up, and now Season 10 has arrived with another major character and plenty more planned beyond launch.
There is also competitive action on the horizon, with Stage 2 of the Marvel Rivals IGNITE Series kicking off on September 17th. Twelve teams from four major global regions will be fighting for their place in the year-end Global Finals.
For everyone else, though, the immediate attraction is considerably simpler: pick a hero, join the fight and see what happens when Gorr the God Butcher gets let loose.
Marvel Rivals Season 10: Butcher’s Blasphemy is out today on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. If you haven’t got the base game in your library, fix it. You’ll find Marvel Rivals available for free on the usual storefronts – like that of the Xbox Store.
