If you’ve spent any time browsing the Xbox Store recently, you’ll know that Afil Games isn’t exactly short of ideas. The latest one has now arrived in the shape of Mole Mine Boom, a logic puzzle game that puts a miner mole underground and hands you the rather important job of figuring out where to blow things up.
Available for £4.19, Mole Mine Boom comes to Xbox One, Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC, with three versions available across those formats. And yes, it is another Afil Games release.

This Mole Has A Lot To Think About
Mole Mine Boom isn’t about charging through a mine with a pickaxe. Instead, you’re presented with a series of carefully constructed underground puzzles where seemingly simple actions can completely change the route ahead.
The objective is to get ore carts onto their correct loading stations, but the path isn’t going to clear itself. Cracked rocks need destroying, and that’s where the sliding demolition charges come in.
The catch is that explosives travel in a straight line until they hit something. That means simply deciding which rock should disappear isn’t enough. You need to consider where the charge will stop, what it will hit and what effect that explosion will have on everything else around it.
Those ore carts aren’t merely something to deliver from A to B, either. They can block passages, interfere with the route of a demolition charge and even become useful for positioning an explosion. Suddenly, moving one object can completely alter the solution to the entire level.
There are 30 levels across three underground biomes, with each one asking you to observe the layout and work out the correct sequence of moves.
Another Small Afil Game To Add To The List
Mole Mine Boom looks like another of those straightforward Afil Games releases that understands exactly what it wants to be. There are no grand ambitions here – just a colourful little logic challenge built around mines, explosives and the increasingly complicated business of getting some carts where they need to go.
At £4.19, it’s also another inexpensive option for puzzle fans looking for something they can pick up, play through a level or two, and put down again before returning later. Or perhaps just complete it in an evening, much like other Afil Games games.
Just remember: when you’re dealing with demolition charges, which thing you blow up first matters. Even a mole needs a plan.
You’ll find Mole Mine Boom on the Xbox Store in three versions, each priced at £4.19. It’s up to you whether you take the Xbox Series X|S optimised drop, the version that plays on Xbox One, or that for Windows PC. Perhaps pick up all three for a massive Gamerscore boost.
