Getting a baby platypus to a jar of cookies sounds simple enough, until the route is filled with spikes, saws and dangerous gaps.

Platypus Steps is a puzzle-platforming game from Afil Games that puts the planning in your hands, asking you to build a safe route before watching your adorable little adventurer set off.

Three versions are available now, with prices starting at £4.19 each.

At A Glance

  • Game: Platypus Steps
  • Developer: Afil Games
  • Publisher: Afil Games
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X|S Optimised, Xbox One, Windows PC
  • Price: £4.19 per version
  • Genre: Puzzle Platformer

Plan The Route, Then Let The Platypus Run

Each level starts in planning mode, giving you time to study the layout and decide how your platypus will reach its tasty reward. Springs, wind and platforms can be positioned to create a route, but everything needs to be in the right place before you hit Play.

Once the action begins, the platypus moves automatically and your setup is locked in. It can bounce off springs, ride air currents and cross the platforms you’ve placed, while collisions and changes of direction can make the journey less predictable than expected.

One Wrong Move Means Starting Again

Pits, saws and spikes stand between your furry little friend and the cookie jar, with a single mistake restarting the level. Success comes down to understanding the environment and thinking through how each element will affect the journey.

Platypus Steps is available now through the Xbox Store in three flavours, on Xbox Series X|S with a version that is fully optimised, another for Xbox One and one for Windows PC, with each version priced at £4.19.
