Oakridge City is expanding, but not every new building project is going according to plan. Firefighting Simulator: Ignite is heading into the construction zone with its latest DLC, introducing three new main missions and a fresh location type designed to put emergency crews under pressure.

The Construction Site Mission DLC is available now for £6.29 on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC. With unfinished buildings, hazardous materials and a new set of potential disasters to contend with, the expansion offers another test for those willing to answer the call.

A New Workplace With Plenty Of Hazards

Construction sites might not immediately sound like the most obvious setting for a firefighting game, but their constantly changing environments can create some particularly dangerous situations.

The new DLC introduces construction sites as a dedicated location type in Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, allowing players to respond to emergencies across a variety of active building projects. These locations bring their own challenges, with unfinished structures and potentially dangerous materials adding new complications to rescue operations.

Flammable liquids and other hazardous substances can pose a risk to both civilians and emergency responders, meaning players will need to pay close attention to the situation before charging into action.

Three New Missions To Master

The Construction Site Mission DLC includes three brand-new main missions, each taking place within the new construction-focused environment.

While the expansion is built around a single location type, the hazards found on building sites provide scope for a different style of emergency response. Crews will need to deal with the dangers associated with construction work while managing the usual demands of firefighting and rescue.

The new missions are intended to expand the variety available in Firefighting Simulator: Ignite, giving players another reason to return to Oakridge City once they’ve worked through the existing emergencies.

From Construction To Crisis

The DLC also represents an interesting crossover of experience for developer weltenbauer Software Entwicklung GmbH, which has extensive experience with the Construction Simulator series.

However, this time the focus is firmly on what happens when construction work goes wrong. Rather than building structures, players are tasked with dealing with the incidents and hazards that can emerge from active construction sites.

Another Reason To Answer The Call

We awarded Firefighting Simulator: Ignite a 4/5 in our review, highlighting its engaging gameplay loop, impressive visuals and the excitement of managing fires with a range of equipment. As we said at the time, “The gameplay loop is engaging, and the fire control, with all the different equipment to use, is genuinely exciting.” We also noted that the game’s team-based approach could prove particularly important in online co-op.

The Construction Site Mission DLC follows the previously released Motor Vehicle Accident Expansion, continuing to broaden the types of emergencies players can encounter.

At £6.29 from the Xbox Store, the new content provides three additional main missions and a new setting to explore, while those with the Year 1 Season Pass can access the expansion as part of their existing package.

Whether you’re working alongside friends or tackling the emergencies yourself, Oakridge City’s latest building projects are clearly going to need more than a hard hat and a toolbox. The Construction Site Mission DLC is available now on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5 and PC.
