Gears of War: E-Day has gone gold, giving fans the date when they can pre-load the 100 GB+ behemoth and what type of PC they’ll need to run it.

    NICE

Gears of War E-Day is coming to Xbox consoles and PC on October 6th, 2026 (Oct 1st if you pay more). Xbox has announced that the game has gone gold, along with what performance you can expect on PC and when you can pre-install its 115 GB set of files.

Pre-installs will begin on September 29th, 2026 at 8 am PDT/11 am EDT US time. If you buy the Premium Edition or its Game Pass upgrade, you can play the game starting on October 1st at the same time frame as the install. Base purchases will unlock on October 6th.

Base PC specs are listed in an image below:

    DayOne’s Prior Coverage

We previewed the Horde Siege and Multiplayer of Gears of War: E-Day during an open-beta test in August. While multiplayer was standard Gears, Horde Siege caught our eye with this almost Helldivers 2-setup:

Gears of War E-Day, even during this multiplayer preview, is one stunning video game. The Coalition’s mastery of Unreal Engine 5 cannot be overstated by even the most fervent of fans. The Xbox Series X was a middle-range machine compared to PC’s of the time when it launched, with UE5 being a mess for most of this generation.
